I am a DVSA approved driving instructor with 16 years experience, I am calm, patient and supportive.
My commitment is to provide you with the highest standard of instruction, with well structured driving lessons to suit individual needs.

Driving automatic cars is very much the future of driving, for every model of manual car there is usually an automatic version made.
Automatic cars have risen in popularity, the manual car which has been most popular over the years , was superseded from 2020 by automatics with 54% of all new UK car sales being that of automatic cars.
Manual cars are on the decline, as manufacturers are preparing for the ban on manufacture of fossil fuel powered vehicles by 2030, new cars will be electric or hydrogen powered, all of which will be automatic.
When learning to drive in a manual, a huge part of controlling the car is understanding and mastering the gears and clutch, this takes a lot of patience, time and practice.
Many learner drivers choose automatic lessons because it is a much simpler process, it takes away the stress of having to master the gears and clutch which can slow down the learning process. An automatic car will not stall or roll back and this can help boost a learners confidence, it allows the learner driver to concentrate on road craft such as speed awareness and hazards.
With added pressure of the roads being so much busier than just a few years ago, this is a welcomed relief for many learner drivers.
It is true that if you learn to drive in an automatic you cannot drive a manual vehicle, but most learners purchase their car and only drive that vehicle.
Many drivers who hold a full manual licence often drive automatic cars because it is a smoother and more relaxing drive.

Claire Vaughan is a fully qualified Driving Vehicle Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructor.
What does this mean ?
UK law requires driving instructors to be qualified, tested and registered by the DVSA. Driving instructors are continuously assessed by the DVSA to asses their abilities.
Claire is DBS checked, is a child protection officer, holds a current first aid certificate and a BTec 4 qualification in Coaching for driver education.
Claire is also registered with and abides by the industries code of practice and regularly undertakes CPD
